ProMatch Consultancy is delighted to be supporting our Client, a leading seafood producer based in Alness, with the recruitment of a Raw Material Quality Assurance (RMQA) Co-Ordinator to join their Technical team in Alness.
This is a varied role that combines hands-on quality assessment with data analysis, reporting and stakeholder communication. You'll play a key part in ensuring salmon and trout raw materials meet the standards expected by the business, their customers and accreditation bodies.
The position offers an interesting blend of factory-based quality checks and desk-based work, making it well suited to someone who enjoys investigating issues, working with data and maintaining high standards whilst remaining closely connected to the product itself.
Working hours are typically Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm. However, flexibility to start earlier when required and undertake occasional weekend overtime is essential.
What will the role involve?
- Assessing the quality and condition of incoming salmon and trout raw materials.
- Carrying out inspections, sampling and quality checks.
- Monitoring compliance with food safety, quality and accreditation standards.
- Managing quality data, analysing trends and producing reports.
- Investigating non-conformances and supporting corrective actions.
- Working closely with production, technical and aquaculture teams.
- Providing feedback to farming partners and external stakeholders.
- Supporting audits, traceability exercises and continuous improvement initiatives.
Who are we looking for?
- Experience within Quality Assurance, Technical, Food Safety, Food Manufacturing or a similar compliance-focused environment.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to carry out inspections, quality checks, sampling and accurate record keeping.
- Comfortable identifying quality issues, investigating non-conformances and supporting corrective actions.
- Confident using IT systems, including Excel, to manage data, analyse trends and produce reports.
- Experience working within a fast-paced production, manufacturing, food processing or aquaculture environment.
- Candidates from an aquaculture or fish farming background are also encouraged to apply, particularly where they have experience of fish quality assessment, specifications, standards, data recording and reporting.
This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the Highlands' leading employee-owned businesses and build a career within a well-established and highly respected seafood organisation.
